KMK melt temperature sensors

The use of melt temperature sensors in plastic extrusion ensures safe and reproducible measurement results in the production process. Melt temperature sensors from KMK are manufactured according to the highest quality standards. All sensors are characterized by their robustness and highly precise measurement results. For measuring, potential-free thermocouples and resistive temperature devices are available as options.

The sensors are equipped with conical measuring tips as a standard feature. Additional alignment, as required for commonly used blade sensors, is not necessary. The measuring tips are available in lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 mm. Additionally, an option with design 0 is available for flush-mounted measurements. For applications involving abrasive plastic melts, we recommend using measuring tips made of Hasteloy 2.4610. The wear compared to the standard tip is significantly lower.

In the field of melt temperature measurement, highly precise melt temperature sensors are required. KMK offers a comprehensive range of melt temperature sensors for this purpose. For accurate melt temperature measurement, it is essential to use melt temperature sensors with thermally (ceramically) insulated measuring tips to minimize external influences such as heating of the cylinder or mold wall.

For simple measuring tasks, melt temperature sensors without thermally insulated measuring tips can be used. However, it should be noted that these melt temperature measurements can be easily distorted by the mentioned influences.
